RAEM was the call of S/S Cheluskin smashed by ice in the   Polar sea in 1934 where Ernst Krenkel was the chief operator.
Since them RAEM has been the Ernest personal amaterur call.

 Ernst Krenkel has been member of the 1937-1938 UPOL north pole expedition.
